i use only rattles from piketrek the reason is they make more nosie than glass rattles and there a lot bloody cheaper also they have a pantastic lip in them that makes securing them in loads of postions very easy

backside tie in

tie in at the back of the hook with a few wraps then varnish as , tying this way will not affect the weight or action of the fly as the rattles are very light

front tie in

 having tied in some material for the backend of the fly place a rattle on just behind the hook eye as above , and secure with varnish or a drop of glue

add you next choice of material , place on and around the rattle then hollow tie back job done hidden rattle
