The Golden Anchor was situated on the High Street, closing in 1932. This pub has now been demolished, with the site now part of an ornamental garden at the junction of High Street and Park Row.

Mary Eleanor (11) is still with Mother Emma Louisa who is now a widower and living at 4, Elmwood Street, Harrogate, her occupation is a Water Attendant. Since the 1891 Census Richard and Emma Louisa had two more children.

Richard Donald Polson was born in Otley on 22nd August 1917
Death of Husband
William (Bill) died in France-Flanders on the 30th August 1917, he was a member of the Royal Field Artillery. He left a pension to his wife and son.
Death of Son
Richard Donald Polson died on the 12th June 1936, age 18, and was buried at Otley all saints church, Yorkshire on 16th June 1936.
