The culmination of five years hardwork by two Northwich boys was reached on Tuesday last week when they recievedtheir Duke of Edinborough Gold lapel badges from Dr Barry Rose, Northwich Urban Council Chairman.
The boys Peter Chubb, aged 19, and David Nelson, also 19, apprentise mechanic, of 53A Shipbrook Road, Rudheath, will attend an offical ceremony at Buckingham Palace later in the year.

The wedding took place on Saturday at St Wilfred's church, Northwich, of Mr David Ernest Nelson only son of Mr & Mrs E E Nelson of Troubridge, 53a Shipbrook Road, Rudheath and Miss Jean Belinda Cookson, daughter of Mrs T K McCormack and the late Mr L Cookson, of 49 Edward Street, Northwich.
The bride is a hairstylist at Robert Anthony's, Northwich and the bridegroom is an electrical instrument engineer at I.C.I Weston Point salt works.
