MR S BURROWS and MISS VERA NELSON

About 80 guests attended a reception at St John's schoolroom after the wedding on Saturday at Northwich parish church of Mr Sidney Burrows, son of Mr T Burrows and of the late Mrs T Burrows of 38 Wrights Avenue, Rudheath and Miss Vera Nelson, daughter of the late Mr F J Nelson and Mrs Nelson of 22, East Avenue, Rudheath.

Canon A W Maitland-Wood performed the ceremony and Mr W H Horrocks was the organist.

An ivory figured taffeta gown with a long embroidered  veil and train was worn by the bride, who carried a bouquet of red roses, her diamonte necklace was a gift from the bridegroom.

The bridesmaides Misses May and Enid Burrows (Sisters of the bridegroom) and Nora Nelson (Sister of the bride) all wore diamonte necklaces, presents from the bridegroom, and carried bouquets of sweet peas. The Misses Enid and May were dressed in pale blue and lemon taffeta, covered in net, and Miss Nora Nelson wore ice blue taffeta with a white overskirt.

Mr Ronald Nelson, brother, gave away the bride, and Mr Fred Hornby was best man.

Later the couple left for Southport, Mrs Burrows wearing a pale blue costume with navy blue accessories.
