1861 Census
Living at Lower Broomfield Farm with his parents, brothers and sisters, John, Mary Ellen, William, Richard, Elizabeth Ann, George and Robert. Also on the Farm Robert Jackson his mothers Uncle, a blacksmith aged 78, from Kirby Lonsdale.
1871 Census.
John was lodging with brother Richard at 84 Damaide Street, Lancaster, they were joiners apprentice's. The house was owned by Joseph and Ellen Parker, Joseph was a Joiner by Trade.
Marriage
On 15th April 1879 John married Elizabeth Strachan at Ilkley, Yorkshire
1881 Census
Living at 131 Balls Pond Road, Islington, John (28) is a joiner, also in Islington is his wife Elizabeth (24) who it says was born in Aberdeen and son John (1) who had been born in Islington.
1891 Census
Now living in Tottenham, John (38) is the head of the household and is a carpenter, also with him is his wife Elizabeth (33), and now a growing family.
John Robert (11), William G (9), both born in Islington.
Margaret E (6) and Mary E (1) both born in Tottenham.
1901 Census
Living at 67 Clinton Road, Tottenham, John (48) is the head of the household and is still a carpenter, wife Elizabeth is 42 years old.
Still livinng with them is John (21) also now a carpenter, William (19) now a blacksmith, Margaret (16), and now Richard (8), alexander (6) and Mary (4) who were all born in Wood green.
