Mets saw red last night in Cincinnati as the Red Devils got in the way of what would have been a historical eleventh win on the trot for the Mets.
19 July 2008
Cincinnati Reds  5   New York Mets  2

Carlos Beltran and Damion Easley went over the fence in the fourth last night and most people in New York thought it was good night Vienna for the hosts. Nonetheless, their assumption was driven to despair soon after as the Red Devils broke down Mets' resistance at the closing of the fifth when they added four runs to the one they scored in the third courtesy of Mr. Jay Bruce's solo effort which went over the fence. However, in the light of that defeat the Mets must now concentrate on their current prospects since the outlook for the time to come is filled with expectations that must be filled if they are to remain in the hunt for greatness. Indeed, there is a very good reason for a manager wanting to identify the reasons for a loss but in Jerry Manuel's case, in my opinion, he must just as well archive what went before in the books of the past and greet the herald of a new day with a smile since he was most definite a fulcrum and inspiration of the 10 games winning streak. Certainly, the past will take care of itself, therefore, he needs to lift the spirit of his players and begin another quest for the title in October.
