2022 Junior Tennis Tournament at the Lake!

The Waterside Centre at South Norwood Park in SE25 was the chosen venue to hold the first Junior Tennis Tournament of this year. Saturday 25th June was a delightful day for tennis weather-wise. Spanish-born, Caesar Rodriguez Prada became the over 12 junior champion as he defeated Mia Sharma 6 – 4, 6 -4. The match was a fiercely competitive contest which could have gone either way. Still, both players were jumping for joy at the end of the game, set and match.
Robert Anderson a newcomer to the Figueras Sports Academy gave a good account of himself as he won the under 11 category after defeating Lisa-Anne Sampson Cambridge 6 -4, 6 -3. After the match, Robert declared, after being crowned champion, that nothing beats being part of this competition, while Lisa-Anne added that it was cool to be part of all this. Felix and Fred, sons of Pippa and Alex, took part in the competition for the first time and they said that they were already looking forward to the next tournament on the 6th August 2022 at the Crystal Palace Sports Centre.  We thank all the parents for their support as their participation helps to inculcate moral values in all those who seek to take up the game of tennis in the future so that they can become good sportsmen and reach the zenith in their chosen field, not necessarily in tennis.
