Mets' taylor icy response to obstacles that beset their path at the start of the season appeared to have paid off as it was designed to address a coup de grace to their doubters since their one-size-fits-all winning approach on the field of playing has been well-received in New York and it is very much in fashion at Shea Stadium these days. For all that, the Mets' fans watched last night the physical and spiritual frame of a man performing perfection in eight innings. That man was Mike Pelfrey who did not allow a single run during his time on the mound. Carlos Beltran and Carlos Delgado made their contribution to the game as well when they unleashed their batting prowess in the first and fifth innings with three and two runs homers respectively to make sure that the Mets had their ninth consecutive win on the trot.  Final score: Mets 7  Rockies 0.
