I have always maintained that those who respond to discipline and motivation are often rewarded with success since one is one's own architect and engineer of one's achievements and failures. For all that, Jose Reyes poured all his energy into winning this game as he seized the day yesterday when he hit a solo homer in the fourth to help the cause of the Mets. It is now eight wins on the trot for the Mets and they are well on the road to a full recovery after a dreadful start. Certainly, Interim manager, Jerry Manuel knew full well the size of the job and the expectations of the fans at Shea Stadium, and beyond its perimeters when he took over the reins of the Mets since his job was to lift those around him to a higher mentality and I believe he has done so in the most extraordinary manner which is reflecting in the way in which his team has perfomed in the last eight games. Indeed, he was full aware that prayers were not any answers to lack of discipline and all that jazz when he took the reins of the Mets as he knew that the living, beating heart of any team was the imposition of a rule of behaviour as victory always follow the disciplined one and the one who never quits, and in order to maintain a level of consistence he had to demand discipline, integrity and persistence not only from his players but from himself too, and, certainly, those items have proved to be a good influence for the success that the team is enjoying at the present time.
