Deluge on earth! Torrential rain, as the tears of the world seemed to have poured forth in the Big Apple last night for it rained in large quantity in New York. Indeed, under those circumstances a thousand things might have arisen in a night like last night. However, my apprehension was wholly unconnected with the rain as my concern was about the sanity of  Johan Santana in a game that he was destined to pitch since he  has never been more at a loss to make his feelings seem what they are not for he had seen too little of what he had worked for in his last six appearances; nevertheless, in the present instance, he ought to be seriously pleased with his performance at the mound and the support he received from his team mates last night which might, hopefully, induce the winning feeling in his soul once more. For all that, his pitching in five frames at Shea Stadium last night was prodigiously flawless. Certainly, there are many misfortunes in this world but Santana's sanity will give me not more one moment's concern since he still is, in my opinion, the best thrower in Major League Baseball.
