Figueras 2018 Tennis Tournament

Joseph Christian won the 2018 Waterside Tennis Tournament at South Norwood Park after defeating hot favourite Yamila Soro 6 - 2, 6 - 3 in the final. J.C. has come a long way since he first came to the club in 2016; his coach put down his sudden rise to the top to his discipline and hard work on the tennis court. Allegra Lawla also experienced success in the under 8 categories - as she put paid to Faye's bold resourcefulness and industrious effort - 6 - 4, 6 - 3 in the final. Allegra's coach has great hopes of her becoming a champion in the time to come as he believes Allegra has a natural talent for the game of tennis; best of luck to her. Others competitors, Zora, Ayesha, Habiba, Vivienne, Nathan & Joel, showed great enthusiasm for the game and it is hoped they will carry on with their choosing sport far beyond their present standard. Indeed, the future is bright for these youngsters and I am fully confident that their endeavour and enterprise will see them throught to the next level of grass roots tennis, sooner than later,  so that they can take part in LTA National Tournaments. Long live the sport of tennis and long live Figueras Sports Academy.
