Let us be honest, the Mets have struggled this season but I have always believed that triumphs follow the self-willed individual, the one who never says die, the one who seizes his day and the one who is prepared to be patient. For all that I believe that the New York Mets are still willing to pursue their ambitions even though not many people believe that they would fulfil the expectations that were prompted by the arrival of my compatriot, Johan Santana from Minnesota.  Indeed, on the subject of aspiration, their attitude and lack of motivation together with the inability to absorb fault-findings, experiences, and the wisdom of others have been all in one hole their biggest handicap which in my view has been a major cause for their failures on the road this season.  However, Tony Armas' arm last night gave them a lift in St. Louis even though he was struck on the left leg in the eighth inning with two outs in the bag by a line drive off the bat of Yadier Molina. Subsequently, Billy Wagner was called upon to establish some sort of orden on the mound which he did with glossy aplomb by putting the game to bed when he pitched a perfect ninth for his 19 save of the current campaign while Todd Wellemeyer took the loss. Final score 7 - 4 to the visitors.
