Would one live longer if one plays tennis?
13 December 2016

The following might sound almost too far-fetched to be put in black & white, but it was Hampton Court -in Richmond- Henry VIII's Royal residence- that unexpectedly caught my eye as I drove past it, which introduced me to the game of tennis. I was enchanted by the beauty of the place & decided to pay a visit to the Palace. All of the sudden, as I was getting out of the car there was a herd of rutting stags blocking my path to the Palace & in the middle of it all, with the sun on their backs, there were two males trying to presumingly outdo each other for the absolutely traditional right of mating with the females of the flock. Indeed, my chances to enter the Palace were love(zero in tennis); nevertheless, this incident gave me the opportunity to explore the surroundings of it and my enterprise was rewarded when I came across the Royal Tennis Courts where Royal tennis or Jeu de Paume was played. It was that day when I truly fell in love with the game & from that day forward, as my passion for it increased, my enjoyment became outstandingly mighty. I am ever so sorry if it seemed that I was trying to sidestep your question but I can promise you that the thought did not cross my mind. In my personal view, tennis is a sport for all & my club is trying very hard to reinforce that view by inculcating in the mind of everybody that tennis is a good game to play so that it becomes a truly game of the people. Well, in answer to your question I would say that the physical part of the game not only might help you to live longer but it would keep you healthier! Merry Christmas everyone!
