Nelson Figueroa, a local boy from Brooklyn, pitched 6 innings at Shea Stadium in New York as the Mets beat the Brewers 5 to 4. Nelson retired 14 consecutive batters before anyone reached first base. It is my personal view, that in the light of Pedro's absence, Nelson ought to be given a starting role in the piching rotation since he has the knowledge, the experience and the commitment to make a difference this season in the Mets' quest for supremacy.
