The 2015 Figueras Sports Academy’s Tennis Junior Tournament

South Norwood Park in Croydon became the capital of tennis on Sunday afternoon as players as far as Streatham visited the park for a feast of Junior Tennis. I couldn't help making a face at the sourness of a lemon drink this morning during breakfast when a cheerless sky filled with banks of threatening clouds, intimating a hostile environment, set in for the day. Zeus has seen the birth of nature, decreed the building and fallen of empires but I was not in the mood to let the old rogue god of the heavens, the sky and thunder spoil our tennis tournament and entertainment. As planned the Tournament went ahead and at the end there were two champions – Faris Barnes for the under 12’s and Markos Farfaras for the under 10’s categories respectively. One cannot predict what will happen in the time to come but one can always plan for what might lie ahead and there are growing reasons to be optimistic about the development of this bunch kids in the tennis world since their positive attitude and discipline still remain their greatest asset. Well done everyone!
