Steve McClaren and Terry Venables were made to walk the plank last night when the seagoing vessel of England football team was captured at sea by Croats. It was in my mind's eye to speculate about Steve McClaren's departure from the England setup but since it was in the papers I am making no claim to any old tripe. Nevertheless, Professional Football is a demanding driven occupation and winning is not just everything, it is absolutely everything and he knew it. Indeed, the essence of sport is to compete and a competition involves, for good or ill, a confrontation; therefore, in every competition there have to be winners and losers; still, it is absolutely fundamental to win at all cost when you are an international manager since your success is judged by your team performance on the field of playing and the number of game the team wins and above all qualification for a major tournament which is probably a minimum requirement. Steve McClaren and Terry Venables failed desperately to achieve their goal and paid the penalty with their jobs. It would be most certainly a mammoth task to essay to revive the fortunes of  this sleeping giant, which is the England team,  but if anybody can awake this team Jose Mourinho is the best qualified coach to do so for Jose is a man that he always sets his goal high, delivers them and then exceeds them. He is a winner and a great coach. I make a wish that he takes the job if it is offered to him while I wish jose the very best if he does so.
