I wish the world as a whole good wishes and joy at whatever it wish to celebrate in the forthcoming festivities.

I must confess that I am not partial to Christmas shopping and all the rest but I would not criticise it adversely either. However, I often keep my balance on the energy tightrope of temptation of spending too much dosh during the season of goodwill and given which is in no sense a true sense of the original sense of celebrating Christmas. I was brought up as a catholic though I was never christened, and throughout my life I have remained a sceptic in religious matters, a bystander rather than a participant. Nevertheless, my scepticism did not cause me to misinterpret people's generally accepted beliefs but it must be said that I made a conscious effort to keep piety to one side as I often refrain myself from expressing personal opinions or passing moral judgements in what I see as matters of none of my interest. My rule of conduct and philosophical attitude is reflected in a well-worn cliché that says "Live and let live," and as I look forward to spending a great deal of time with my family in the forthcoming festivities I wish the world as a whole good wishes and joy at whatever it wish to celebrate.
