The Indians lost a battle at Jacob's Field last night but not the war.
Josh Beckett was the man the Boston Red Sox looked for inspiration at Jacob's field in Cleveland last night as the Red Sox defeated the Cleveland Indians at their patch by 7 runs to 1 in game 5 of the AL playoff series.  Like a dog with a bone Beckett was not going to let this one go as he pitched eight innings allowing the Indians to score only once while conceding 5 hits and striking out 11 batters. Indeed, Boston's victory brought joy and hope to its travelling fans whose shouting woke the echoes in Jacob's Field. Just you know why. A case of "Deja-vu," perhaps. Can the Boston Red Sox do it again? It is unlikely in my view but I am sure that the Sox's fans are still entertaining such ambition. Nevertheless, the Cleveland Indians are still leading 3-2 in the best of seven games playoff and they will only be requiring to beat the Red Sox one more time and the series will be over. However, can they pull it off; it would certainly go down as a missing opportunity if they don't do so.
