Magglio Ordóñez 2007 American League Batting Champion!

Congratulations to Magglio Ordóñez of the Detroit Tigers who became the 2007 American Batting Champion with a batting average of 0.263. He is the second Venezuelan national to win such a covetous distinction in Major League Baseball. Andrés Galárraga is the other Venezuelan National to have done so in 1993 with 0.370 batting average while playing with the Colorado Rockies.  Very well done!

Venezuelan pitcher, Félix Hernández (14 - 2) and the Seattle Mariners said adios in style to the 2007 season last night when they defeated the Texas Rangers 4 - 2 at their anchorage.
