The Dominican Republic became - in San Francisco U.S.A. - the new Baseball World Champion!

A vivid flash of light, moving in different directions, lightened the heavens as if it were patrolling the Earth. There was no option but to endure the lightning and the unrelieved thunderclap, so everyone made the decision to turn their backs on the meteorological conditions and ignore its flashes and loud crashing noises. The prevailing weather conditions might have been blamed for their attitude of intolerance among supporters of both teams since a storm of words raged in the bar before the start of game, and the curses were beginning to be heard, as the rain began to come down in torrents. Indeed, this final encounter between the best two teams in the competition had been built, up to the nines, as a local derby since both teams came from the Caribbean Sea. All of the sudden, the tempest began to lose its strength and the umpires, after a brief inspection of the playing field, decided to start the game. Team Dominican Republican began to exhibit its puissance and scored two runs in the very first frame, and by the end of the nine inning they had become world champions of the 2013 World Baseball Classic as they defeated Team Puerto Rico by three runs to nil. It was the third time in the history of the competition that  they have won it. It needs to be said that, Dominican Republican's opening hurler, Samuel Deduno, once again was his team linchpin as he kept his composure on the mount during five frames, which in turn allowed him succeed in silencing the opposition's ordnance. Firefighter, Octavio Dotel, tossed the sixth inning but he ran into difficulties and was replaced by reliever Pedro Strop whose interposing was crucial to end the inning. Casilla and Fernando Rodney combined to bring the game to its conclusion. Robinson Cano, Dominican Republic's second baseman, was named, the 2013 World Baseball Classic, Most Valuable Player.  All's well ends well, naturally, this is self-evidently true when we looked at the Team Dominican Republic's bullpen. They were brilliant throughout the competition.
