Attention! Attention! Attention!

Croydon Pirates Are hosting the 2007 London Tournament at Roundshaw  Playing Fields - Hannibal's way.

14 - 15 July 2007. We are inviting you to come along to fill your lungs with a bit of fresh air and enjoy baseball at its best.  We will endeavour to make your day a good one too but a better one the next day since the final game of the tournament never fails to excite to excess. It will be an enjoyable experience. It's a promise. Be there!

I'll endeavour to be present at the London Tournament when it comes the weekend after next. Having said that my writing this article has nothing to do with the latter since I wanted to talk about Joe's extraordinary article in this month's Living South issue.  There is wisdom in talking about baseball in Croydon and Crystal Palace and Joe has done so brilliantly since baseball, as I would put it, offers a breath of fresh air to anyone who wishes to take the game up. The Croydon Pirates and Figueras Baseball Academy are committed to expanding their teams with people who have the ability to help their players succeed in fulfilling their goals, which will, of course, make our approach welcomed by all concerned. In simple terms, we are developing a comprehensive programme and training methodology which will ensure the standard of coaching to be consistent, in all, attitude, passion, drive, enthusiasm, training outcomes and above all self-belief. Yeah! We are thirsty for success and committed to a course of action which will allow our players to succeed beyond their expectations.  Yeah! We are also committed to ensuring that all players at the club are equal participants in the club's activities and, that they are given all the necessary means and knowledge both intellectually and physically in order to be successful. That is a promise!  Lead by example is the club's motto and rest assure that the club will endeavour to fulfil its promises but we need everyone's support to allow baseball to reach and touch people from different walk of life and without distinction of classes, age or sex. Finally, I would like to thank Joe Gray for having taking the time to speak about baseball in Croydon and Crystal Palace, on behalf of us all, to the Living South magazine.
All in baseball
