"A small-minded person will always have a parochial outlook on life; therefore, he/she will never allow his/her mind to develop the ability to make good judgements and will forever remain insular to new ideas"
P.Figueras

Be honest and tell me, what did you learn from watching and playing baseball with the Croydon Pirates in the 2010 baseball season?

An awful lot, I hope. Indeed, it must be said that individually the effort put into the game by most players was an acceptable one even though it was clearly visible that the team was, at times, lacking a real sense of purpose and direction. Having said that I believe that autumn is a good time to polish one's individual skills (improve one's fielding, batting, bunting, base running skills or develop a new pitch) so that one can be absolutely ready to face the 2011 baseball season with confidence. Certainly, it is a fact that success can only be measured by hard work and ability to progress to the next level, whichever it may be, and indeed, my coaching philosophy encompasses that sentiment ("Self-discipline and preparation are the keys to success"), as it conveys an approach to progress and accomplishment in the field of sport.  Nevertheless, the most important thing about one's pursuing in amateur baseball must be, at all times, the seeking of enjoyment and fun for they are the main reasons one watches, plays and coaches this wonderful game.

All in baseball
