Do you believe in yourself?  It could make all the difference!

In my book belief in oneself can make all the difference in what one does and wishes to achieve. Only last week I was coaching someone who was very frustrated with making a throw to first base, second base, third base and home plate. Furthermore, for what is worth, he is, both, knowledgeable and skilful baseball player but his confidence was then on the floor. It appears that in the past he listened to advice from so many people who themselves needed help in their development of their own game and as a result his game went to pieces. It is puzzling sometimes but when one is attempting to work out what is lacking one will often find that is the simple belief the person has in himself that is missing. Sometimes people use witticism and nonchalant attitude as an attempt to cover up for their lack of certainty in themselves which is a shame because really talented people who deserve success sometimes fail simply because of this lack of faith in themselves. So, I advised him to take it easy and concentrate on picking the ball up, catching it and hitting the target as often he could at training sessions. I also told him that he must convince himself he could do all that he wanted to do by removing all doubt in his mind before hand. Hopefully, he will take on board my advice and seek professional advice when in need of an instruction on how to do things in baseball.
