Astros' hurler Mike Hampton hit a gargantuan two-run homer in front of an adoring home crowd to make mince of Mets' ace lefty Johan Santana's peppery stuff!
25 July 2009
Houston Astros   5   New York Mets   4

Houston is not the place that I would correlate with myth and legend but Mike Hampton's and Chris Coste's prowess made sure last night that the Gods, who were watching the game, and the Astros' fans went home happy. Indeed, Santana was made to look pretty ordinary by the Astros as they hit him at will when he conceded twelve hits including a two-run homer - in the bottom of the fourth inning - by Astros's opening pitcher, Mike Hampton, all in six frames. Final score: Astros 5  Mets 4.
