When Stan Musial (St. Louis Cardinal - Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969) handed the ball to Barack Obama to hurl the first pitch of the 80th All-star Game history was being made as Mr. Obama became the first dark skin President of the United States of America to have thrown out the first pitch in a meeting of such magnitude. Indeed, thousands turned up for this game as St. Louis became the most culturally diverse city in the planet, for a day, at least. However, history was not the main reason for this encounter as many baseball fans can testify for the major outcome was a very close game of baseball which the American League Team won and one which everyone enjoyed. Final score: American League All-Stars 4 National League All-Stars 3.
