Bronso Arroyo, Reds' opening pitcher, had an easy night at Citi Field on Friday night as he blanked the Mets and merely allowed them four hits for no runs as he struck out five batters. Joey Votto and Laynce Nix were the main contributors for the Reds as the former hit a solo homer in the fourth inning and the latter did the same but in the sixth, both, off Mets' opening hurler, Fernando Nieve. Brando Phillis showed audacity and dare as he snitched home play in the second inning to embarrassed further the Mets' defence. Final score: Reds 3  Mets  0.
