Rain sparks Mets' fight-back as heat is still on in race to find form! 03 July 2009 New York Mets 9 Pittsburgh Pirates 8
Mets' center-fielder, Ryan Church, led the fight-back as he uplifted his team spirit with an RBI single in the top of tenth inning to bring home team mate, Mets' left-fielder, Fernando Tatis, with the winning run in front of 14000 plus fans at PNC Park. Indeed, the rain was a bit of pain for the fans and players since there was an hour and 13 minutes delay; nevertheless, it somehow provided the spark which had been absent in Mets' recent outings to give them the victory. Mets' fans hope that two consecutive wins might prompt their team season to take a complete change of direction and get a bit closer to the current leaders of their division, the Philadelphia Phillies. Having said that, certainly, confidence is a good thing to have and it is something that the Mets must never be allowed to take a back seat for it could stab them in back.
