Mets' opening hurler, Johan Santana, sparked huge amount of interest last night in Milwaukee owing to his stellar career and reputation as the best thrower in Major League Baseball at the present time. However, things did not go as planned last night since the Mets once more crumbled under the pressure as the route to recovery was obstructed by the uncomplicated tactics of the Brewers which unleashed more pain to the beleaguered Mets' outfit. Indeed, Santana came unstuck in the fourth frame when he allowed the Brewers four runs which in the end determined the outcome of this match. Brewers' first baseman, Prince Fielder added more misery to Santana's night when he dispatched a gargantuan solo homer off the ace in the bottom of the seventh inning which prompted Mets' skipper, Jerry Manuel, to remove his star pitcher off the mound. It must be said that David Wright did his very best to support Santana in his quest for glory as he hit a two-run homer in the top of the first inning but it was not enough to halt the collapse of the Mets' drive. Final score:  Brewers 6  Mets 3.
