Milwaukee Brewers 10  New York Mets 6

Brewers' third baseman, Casey Mcgehee, blew the New York Mets away in the bottom of the sixth inning with a grand slam as his team made what would have seem a jumbo task - in days gone by - an easy one. Mets' opening hurler, Fernando Nieve, was not his normal self last night as he was hit almost at will by the brewers' line-up. Indeed, he conceded three runs and eleven hits, including a J.J.Hardy's solo homer at the bottom of the third frame, in three innings which was a reflection of his lack of dominance on the mound. Gary Sheffield's three-run homer at the top of the ninth inning gave the Mets hope but is was all in vain since the damage had already been done.  Final score:  Brewers  10   Mets   6.
