Johan Santana was overjoyed with his work on the mound at Fenway Park last night as he tripped the Red Sox's heels and broke the heart of 38,000 plus crowd!
24 May 2009
New York Mets   5    Boston Red Sox   3

A successful hunt in the opening game of the inter-league three-match series between the Mets and the Red Sox at Fenway revealed that the superlatives ascribed to Santana were correctly applied in the light of his recent performances in which he has shown total commitment to the cause of his team. Indeed, Santana seems to inspire confidence in his team whenever he is on the mound as the expectations of his ambitions forcefully convince his team mates to believe that all can be achieved and conquered. Certainly, his appetite for the game of baseball and his success in Major League have awakened a powerful urge to pursue an exciting ambition which amount to being part of a small list of throwers that contain the names of those who have won 300 games in their life time in the Majors. Indeed, on Friday night Santana's terrific change-up and excellent fast-ball served him and his team well as the Mets defeated the Red Sox at their own patch in a game which Santana conceded three runs, seven hits while striking out eight batters. It was his sixth win of the season but more importantly this victory helped the Mets to move on into a positive direction and elevated them to the top of their league.  Final score:  Mets   5   Red Sox   3.
