David Wright roared the Mets into life last night in the seventh to draw them level with the Giants at AT&T Park with the in-your-face bravado that defines pride and passion!

New York Mets   8  San Francisco Giants  6

I admire the spirit and endeavour of the  2008 National League Cy Young Award winner, Tim Lincecum; however, last night it was not one of his best night on the mound since it did not transform him into the dominance force and rock of stability we are used to see him in. Having said that Tim Lincecum spent six innings on the knoll, conceding five runs, ten hits and three walks while striking out eight Mets' batters before he was forced to leave the game. Reliever Merkin Valdez suffered the same fate as the latter when David Wright hit a three-run double in the seventh to make the game even-steven. He was substituted by Jeremy Affeldt who did what was asked of him before he gave way to Brian Wilson who was hit at will at the top of the ninth when David Wright, again, sparked a three-run rally.  Livan Hernandez tossed five innings for the Mets, allowing five runs and eight hits while striking out four Giants' batters before being replaced by Green on the mound who combined with Feliciano, stokes and Rodriguez to close the game for the Mets. Final score: Mets  8  Giants  6.
