Carlos Beltran hopped the distance from third base to home plate and sailed upon the bosom of the air when he greeted the fans to celebrate his winning run as the New York Mets left the visitors, Atlanta Braves, biting the dust of the ground at the bottom of the tenth. Mike Pelfrey was on the hot seat last night and he seemed to have achieved an accord with his team mates as they had to work hard for this victory. Pelfrey stayed on the mound for seven innings, conceding two runs, six hits and one walk while striking out three braves. J.J. Putz and Francisco Rodriguez combined to close the game for the Mets. Final score: Mets 4 Braves 3.P. Figueras
