The storm that wrecked the Mets' ship at the start of the season seems to have ceased as they defeated the Braves at their patch twice to take the two games series!

New York Mets    4    Atlanta Braves   3

Sometimes I beseech God that I may have the power to make all men look at things with the eyes of common sense rather than the eyes of their judgement look but he has so far refused to talk to me nor has he granted it by divine command. Nevertheless, it must be said that the Mets are on the up as they defeated the Braves at their domain last night to take the two games series and steer them towards salvation. Indeed, the Mets haunted high and low for last night victory as a comedy of errors in the ninth threatened to wrecked the stage which they had charmed until then. Opening pitcher, Livan Hernandez, was a proven warrior on the mound as he pitched 6 and 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits, one run and two walks while striking out two batters. Indeed, Hernandez's performance breathed a deep sigh of contentment to the fans who have recently drawn their tongues publicly upon their team to plead their vexation. However, displeasure seemed nowhere in evidence at the end of the match  last night as past diatribe appeared to have been deposited in the dust and memories of time as they all celebrated the victory in great spirit. Carlos Beltran continued his hitting feast as he has reached a career best 16 games producing his trade while David Wright, Ramon Castro and Carlos Delgado dazzled their followers with their extraordinary hitting strength but it was hurler, Francisco Rodriguez, who rescued the Mets' barge from shipwreck as he made a visible effort to close the final inning. Final score: Mets  4  Braves  3.
