Hot Santana rallies to halt Mets' slide as his dominance on the mound on Friday night breathed new life into Citi Field and the die-hard fans!
26 April 2009
New York Mets   4 Washington Nationals   3

Pacy Johan Santana ripped holes in Nat's bats as he punched out ten batters in six innings to drive the Mets to victory in the opening game of this series at Citi Field. Indeed, during his stay on the mound Santana produced an austere arm of control where his desire to win this game was central to the concerns of his intention and the reputation of his team. Nevertheless, Santana's dominance suffered a pause as he was rendered momentarily speechless in the top of the six when Nick Johnson hit a gargantuan homer off Santana's fast pitch to the farthest part of the left-field. Bobby Parnell, Pedro Feliciano. J.J. Putz and F. Rodriguez merged to hurl the three remaining innings Final score: Mets 4, Nationals 3.
