Johan Santana showed his natural ability on the mound on Sunday night to the world of baseball once more in Cincinnati as he punched out seven batters, allowing three hits and one run in 5 2/3 innings. Daniel Murphy was the main contributor with the bat as he went over the fence in the fifth inning when he hit a gargantuan homer off Aaron Harang and brought the winner run home in the six inning when he produced an infield out off Daniel Herrera with the bases loaded which effectively put the game to bed for the Mets. Final score: Mets  2  Reds  1.
