Venezuela hogged the limelight in curtain-raises at the Dolphin Stadium in Miami last Saturday night! 16 March 2009 The 2009 World Baseball Classic!
Venezuela 3 The Netherlands 1Big hitters Miguel Cabrera and Jose Lopez were keen to force the issue of power in the 2009 World Baseball Classic on behalf of Team Venezuela as they hogged the limelight on Saturday night at Dolphin Stadium in Miami. Indeed, they did so brilliantly as they hit solo homers to help Team Venezuela to defeat Team Netherlands at the second stage of the opening match of the 2009 World Baseball Classic. Right hand hurler, Carlos Silva, was also pleased to make his point on the mound as he pitched seven innings, conceding four hits and one run before relievers Carlos Vasquez and Francisco Rodriguez end the good work that Silva had started.
