Alex's honesty is likely to cause controversy as fans estimate the wrong that their idol has done!

Alex Rodriguez is due back in New York today with the World upon his shoulder to face the music after his admission of having used prohibited performance enhancing substances during his time in Texas. It must be very hard for Alex's fans to come to terms with the disappointment of accepting that their idol cheated and that his Superman's status has lost the spark that many thought it would never fade. Indeed, he was my hero too and it pains me a great deal to accept that his power was not a natural talent but an artificial one. I do not wish to take an existing analysis, of which there are many, since we all make mistakes but he ought to have relied on his advisers to steer him well away from any such potentially misconduct. Perhaps, I am too optimistic to think that he will be forgiven by his fans for his mischief but I do not think the record books of MLB would be that lenient.
