The airy blasts of the severe weather were once again threatening, with all the stormy winds in Philadelphia, to impose their will before the gods made them to curb their rage as postponement again lingered in the mind of the officials of the 2008 MLB World Series. However, the continuation of the fifth game of the series went ahead as per schedule as the home team took the field amid all the support that their fans could muster. Indeed, their brazen voices shouted as loud as the inclement conditions of the day for their team was poised to become World Series Champions for the first time since 1993. Indeed, the support was excellent as Phillies' Hurlers, Cole Hamels, Ryan Madson, J.C. Romero and Brad Lidge put their shoulders with all their mighty force behind them to the wheel on the mound last night to finally drive home the 2008 MLB World Series. The action was set off when Geoff Jenkins was summoned to replace pitcher Cole Hamels in the bottom of the sixth inning and he hit a double off Grant Balfour. Jimmy Rollins' sacrifice bunt took Jenkins to third and Jayson Werth brought Jenkins home with a single to center field. Rays' response happened at once in the top of the seventh when Rocco Baldelli mighty homer off Ryan Madson silenced Phillies' faithful which brought the score level. The Phillies responded in kind and scored a run, in the bottom of the seventh, which in the end was enough to clinch the title for the home team.  Final score: Phillies  4  Rays  3
