Red Sox were left nonplussed last night at Tropicana Field as Rays left it very late to put the game to bed after Upton's walk-off sacrifice fly in the eleventh which tied up the series one apiece! 12 October 2008 Tampa Bay Rays 9 Boston Red Sox 8
The Rays' fans arrived at Tropicana Field dressed to the nines on Saturday night but had to pay the Devil for their five hours plus of enjoyment they had as last night game spilled over into Sunday as it went into extra innings. Indeed, the game turned out to be a real doozy as the Ray left it until the eleventh inning to put the game to bed. More tellingly, Rays' win ties up the series which will resume on Monday at Fenway Park. Final score: Rays 9 Red Sox 8P. Figueras
