Mets off course and go into moments of catch-up as they surrendered first place to Phillies!

Scalps were paraded at the end of the match for the entertainment of the Braves' nation as they defeated the Mets in a game of poor culture celebration and one which could not be praised for its quality of entertainment. A loss of faith and strength was the exclusive cause of nearly all Mets' deficiencies on the field last night as opening hurler, Pedro Martinez, wandered off the beaten track and into an unknown territory in the first inning as he conceded three runs when Kelly Johnson and Casey Kotman combined with a double and a single to yield the score. Indeed, just you know why the blue skyline of New York cried last night as the airwaves gathered the news to report the defeat at the hands of the Braves.  Albeit, Martinez was severely chastised by the spirited Braves' side in the first inning he was allowed to go on as he completed six innings where he conceded four runs, nine hits and struck out six batters. It must be said that it was Pedro's hitting prowess that produced the two runs that the Mets managed to score during the course of the match when he blasted a two-run double in the fifth inning.  Final score:  Braves  4   Mets  2
