Santana never ceases to amaze the fans at Shea Stadium as he always gives his all on the mount and, certainly, he is the hurler that the crowd look forward to see more than any other. However, last night's match was not one of his best even though he pitched seven inning without conceding a run. It was in the eighth inning when he was beginning to feel the heat as he allowed two consecutive singles to the braves which prompted Jerry Manuel to take a premature decision, in my opinion, to substitute him and bring Scott Schoeneweis since the Braves scored three times in that inning which enabled them to put the game to bed there and then.  Nevertheless, it was a different story in the second game of the double header as Jonathon Niese became the missing found piece of the jigsaw as the Mets ran away with the second game. Indeed, there was no doubt whatsoever that Niese has become a quality addition to the Mets' hurlers as he showed last night that he has what it takes to be a winner in Major League Baseball. It must be said that the little help he received from his mates, Jose Reyes, David wright and Carlos Beltran as they hit to the bleachers once respectively, was a blessing.
