Tropical Storm Hanna forces a reschedule to Mets-Phillis' second encounter! 06 September 2008 Tonight's match has been cancelled!
As fresh storms loom over the Atlantic and an appearance of a twist has been forecasted for today in New York. Therefore, Mets-Phillis' second game of the series has been postponed owing to treacherous weather coming in the tail of a tropical storm named Hanna. "Monsoon",Pedro Martinez, had been sounded as a possible opening hurler today and as always he was ready to wrecking havoc on the heart of the Phillis' offensive but it was not to be today. Instead a double header has been scheduled for tomorrow which might see Pedro displaying his wealth of experience in the first game and Johan Santana's talent in the second game of the double header which will be the third game of the series. Indeed, tomorrow could be the turning point in the race to find the winner of the National League East Major League Baseball this season as the struggle for supremacy is poised to go to the wire. The Mets are enjoying a two games lead at the moment but in Major League Baseball nothing is put down in black and white until the last out has been recorded on the board. Nevertheless, it remains my fervent desire to see the Mets winning the lot and their current form suggest that they will carry on the same vein in their bid for glory. Certainly the Phillis are standing in the way of Mets' rise to the top and tomorrow's double header will be a test for them but I am excited and very confident that the Mets will win both game tomorrow.P.
