Spanglefish Gold Status Expired 10/06/2010.
Shea Stadium was filled with an air of unpredictability last night as the wind of calamity and misfortune was breathing heavily into the Mets' barge while carrying the buoyant Astros to the podium of victory in the tenth!
25 August 2008
Houston Astros New York Mets  4

My remembrance cannot parallel a game like this in all my life as disaster decided to make an appearance in order to unveil its masterpiece in the top of the tenth inning for the inconvenience of the Mets' supporters as Brad Ausmus and Darin Erstad both went beyond the fence in the tenth to break the tie and put the game to bed for the tenants of the sky. Indeed, this game will not go away easily from the mind of those who watched it since it was full of good stuff and all the rest. Horrifying was the reaction of the die-hard Mets' fans, many of whom remained in their seats rigid as if they had seen Gorgon Medusa and had turned them into stone. Eventually, the salt tears of the sky fell over Shea Stadium and softened the stony faces of the crowd, all as one and at once, allowing them to get on with their daily life.  Albeit the match was lost in such a manner, there was quality in the hitting department for the Mets as Carlos Beltran dispatched two homers to keep his team in the hunt but Beltran's effort was not enough to deny the Houston Astros of their second consecutive win in three outings at Shea Stadium.  Final score: Astros  6  Mets  4
