Santana neglected no time to impress the Mets' faithful followers as he delivered a very applaudible performance at Shea Stadium last night. It might sound highly flattering but Santana's had plenty of voice and encouragement from the crowd who were egging him to strike out every batter he faced. He did not, I grant you that but he kept the Astros in the score of absence while striking out five batters and conceding three hits in seven innings, and at the time of his departure from the game a loudly marked approval of his time on the mound was expressed by everyone in the stadium. Aaron "The man" Heilman and Luis Ayala combined to keep the Astros' score blank and close the match for the Mets. Final score:  Mets  3  Astros 0
