Bad driving is responsible for many accidents in London!
22 August 2008
A near miss on Annerly road!

I got into my wife's two doors corsa vauxhall car the other day, switched on the ignition, looked over my shoulders at the road behind and set off to take my little Sara to school. I drove to the end of the road and waited patiently for a chance to turn into Annerly road at Crystal Palace. There was an unending line of traffic going in my direction and I needed to get out of my predicament soon otherwise Sara was going to get detention for being late but I could not envisage a worse ordeal than this one since it appeared that there was not anyone in a charitable mood to let me through for everyone seemed to be wearing a long face and a worried look in their eyes which summed up the refusal to respond to my pleading. Luckily for me and my daughter a nice looking lady appeared to have taken pity on my plight as she slowed down and signalled her intentions with her lights to allow me to come out of my standstill position and onto the main road. There was frustration in the mind of the driver of a car that was in front of me as he, all of the sudden, without warning, decided to jumped the traffic lights and almost caused an accident as he had to slam his brakes on when the car in front stopped suddenly. His action was irresponsible since the car in front missed a little boy on his bicycle by a hair's breadth as it skidded off the road. Indeed, his lack of consideration for other road users and his desire to scorn the traffic laws were the capital reason for that happening. It was an hour late when I managed to drop Sara at school. What a journey!
