A case of "Deja-Vu" as Pelfrey takes in sail the Mets' ambitions of the tittle a little bit nearer!
21 August 2008
New York Mets  6  Atlanta Braves  3

Mike Pelfrey is entitled to be entirely delighted with his swaggering display of self-confidence and pace as his tameness of the Atlanta Braves made the first page headline of a memorable night at Shea Stadium last night. Indeed, Pelfrey has this extraordinary belief in his ability to rise to people's expectations whenever he stands on the mound and perform with the strength of a lion and the vision of eagle. It has been said that he draws his talent from the sun under which he was born and it has been commented that he often seeks inspiration from his spiritual maker, whoever might it be?  Albeit, there was not a gap in the clouds for the gods to watch this game I still managed to make a wish to the heavens that all those who sought to make this world a fairer place to live were in total agreement and that they would learn from their past mistakes; certainly, the good thing about last night was the entertainment value and the flail that went on to separate the grain from the husks during the game in which Pelfrey went the distance to make sure that the Mets were at top of the pile of the National League East of Major League Baseball.  Rookie Daniel Murphy had a good day with the bat as he hit a two-run single to spread out the advantage of the Mets in the first inning. Final score: Mets  6  Braves  3
