It does not make a good reading for the Mets' faithful supporters to recall troubles that are over but their team is in a bit of a pickle at the present moment since they have been defeated twice repeatedly by the same side!

Houston Astros   5  New York Mets

In a cloudy and muggy night in Houston last night the feeding of the inner mind, sense of belonging and teamwork, where everyone pulls together, were all at play as the Astros showed their commitment to their cause as they defeated the Mets in the tenth inning in an enthralling match at their natural home in Houston. The Mets had hoped to step on to a new plateau as they unleashed Santana's talent to make the difference and for six innings and a third he was conjuring a first class performance on the mound, filled with a bit of his old magic and his endeavour to do his best for his side. Indeed, he allowed the Astros only one run in his time on the mound but unfortunately, he was substituted in the seventh and all hell broke lose since closer Billy Wagner was unable to sustain the two-run lead that the Mets had when Santana departed and the match was lost.  Final score: Astros   5   Mets   4
