I am 100% sure that Mike Pelfrey would have been happier if he had been handing out free ice creams at Dolphin Stadium in Miami instead of being on the mound for the Mets last night as his curses in the fourth inning became louder and deeper when he allowed four runs as the Mets succumbed to the Florida Marlins' drive at their patch. The Marlins seized the initiative in the fourth when Jeremy Hermida initiated a five-run onslaught with his triple to the right field of the ground off Pelfrey's outside pitch which made the Marlins cash in on a high interest in that inning. This Marlins' win put the pigeon among the cats as the race for the National League East becomes a dogfight for the right to wear the crown of the division. The Philadelphia Eagles in the meantime have regained the lead when they defeated, away from home, the Washington Nationals 8 runs to 5 while the Marlins are within touching distance of the Mets in second place a game behind.  Final score:  Marlins  7   Mets  5
