The Florida Marlins showed great resilience as they fell the Mets in the eighth last night in Miami. Indeed, it must be said that The Florida Marlins are a team built on firm foundations as they found inspiration under severe duress to defeat the leaders of the National League East at Dolphin Stadium last night.  Certainly, the Mets pushed them all the way but at the close the victory went to the delighted Marlins and their die hard fans who stood by their team even when there was a loud rumbling going on in the sky and a downpour of rain was threatening to fall from grace at any moment then and damp their support for the Marlins.  Final score:  Marlins   7    Mets   3.
