Day in the Lakes
03 September 2010
Oh wow what a day!
Glorious sunshine all the way all the day at Lonscale farm... Belle gathered the Long trial field twice, in two sessions, coping really well and putting in some very good moves and no bad ones, if you are to be really picky I would have liked her to flank on fetch a tiny bit more willingly but nothing was spoiling.

Frost had two little goes on training sheep in paddock which were faster than ours! And did all his stops, slow moves and the occasional plunge through. I told Derek how he used to run straight at sheep's flank and tip it right over, sometimes rolling over more than once. A  5 month old puppy...So did Laddie! Said Derek...So did Laddie!  Wow! That's down to a little pluck in passing now, and that not often.

Then Mirk ... Derek quietly sent Rachel to get Laddie, in case we chased them over the fence."Does it bark?" No! "Has it style?" well, no, not as he means... But The Hairy Fool didn't put one paw wrong! Kept off, kept walking, never looked like doing anything silly. Was very interested in the lamb sorting going on in the holding pens nearby, but kept up to the ones we had well enough.

Rachel was busy with her camera, and took some smashing pictures which I hope to get on my memory stick next time I go!

Then we had a walk down to the stream to cool off, and Mirk taught Quiwi the yellow lab how body slamming feels when it's done to YOU, rather than you doing it a poor little westie!

Thanks very much, every one, for a brill day out ... hope to see Jazz, Frost's sister, next time I go!
